Karen O

Karen Lee Orzolek (born November 22, 1978) is an American singer and songwriter who is the lead vocalist of the indie rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs. She was a key artist of the 2000s garage rock and post-punk revivals, and a frontrunner of the New York music scene. She is noted for her energetic performances, distinctive singing style, and eccentric fashion. Karen O's accolades with Yeah Yeah Yeahs include nominations for five Grammy Awards, and her solo work has netted her nominations for three additional Grammys, an Academy Award, three Critics' Choice Awards and a Golden Globe Award. She appeared three times on NME's Cool List from 2002 to 2006, and was ranked by Rolling Stone among the "200 Greatest Singers of All Time" in 2023.
